چکیده

The lowest frequencies are delta. These are less than 4 Hz and occur in deep sleep and in some abnormal processes, also during ex-periences of "empathy state". Delta waves are involved with our ability to integrate and let go. It reflects unconscious mind. It is the dominant rhythm in infants up to one year of age and it is present in stages 3 and 4 of sleep. It tends to be the highest in amplitude and the slowest waves. We increase Delta waves in order to decrease our awareness of the physical world. We also access information in our unconscious mind through Delta. Peak performers decrease Delta waves when high focus and peak performance are required.H

Traumatic brain injury rehabilitation: QEEG biofeedback treatment protocols.

Interventions for improvement of cognitive problems in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) include electroencephalography biofeedback, also known as neurofeedback. Quantitative electroencephalography (QEEG) patterns are assessed in TBI patients and then compared to a database obtained from a normative population. Deviations in QEEG patterns from the normative group are the basis for an i...

Electrophysiology quantitative electroencephalography/low resolution brain electromagnetic tomography functional brain imaging (QEEG LORETA): Case report: Subjective idiopathic tinnitus - predominantly central type severe disabling tinnitus.

The clinical significance of QEEG LORETA data analysis performed sequentially within 6 months is presented in a case report of a predominantly central type severe disabling subjective idiopathic tinnitus (SIT) before and following treatment. The QEEG LORETA data is reported as Z-scores of z = ± 2.54, p < 0.013. The focus is on demonstration of patterns of brain wave oscillations reflecting mult...

Integrating Different Aspects of Resting Brain Activity: A Review of Electroencephalographic Signatures in Resting State Networks Derived from Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Electroencephalography (EEG) is an established measure in the field of brain resting state with a range of quantitative methods (qEEG) that yield unique information about neuronal activation and synchronization. Meanwhile, in the last decade, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies have revealed the existence of more than a dozen resting state networks (RSNs), and combined qEEG and...

Assessing Fibromyalgia With Quantitative Electroencephalography (QEEG)

114 Recent research into fibromyalgia has suggested dysfunction in the central nervous system (CNS) as a possible contributor to this chronic pain condition. If changes in the CNS are involved in fibromyalgia, then dysfunctional brain activity should be present. This article specifically focuses on the brain wave activity in a group of fibromyalgia sufferers. In this study, 40 fibromyalgia suff...
